Snapshot 2012: Children and Young People in Queensland was released by the Commissioner for Children and Young People and Child Guardian on 24 September 2012.
Snapshot 2012 is the tenth annual publication in the series which reports on the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people in Queensland.
The report collates information from a variety of resources and across a wide range of matters to provide a contemporary representation of the status of children and young people in Queensland.
Information is gathered from state and federal government agencies, as well as the non-government and community sectors. Where possible, data are supported by robust trend analyses to provide a longitudinal evidence base from which facts can be drawn to highlight areas of particular concern and improvement. These facts can be used to inform policy and program development across sectors.
The chapters featured in Snapshot 2012 include:
- Key statistics
- Demographics
- Families
- Determinants of health
- Health conditions
- Early childhood education and care
- Education
- Deaths
- Child protection
